Wednesday, July 6, 2011 at 10:46PM I have known Donna my entire life being that she and Robert were born and raised in the Brady area. I have known Robynn most of her life. She was in my son's same class at Veribest and they started Kindergarten together and went to school together through their sophomore year! I was so honored when Donna, Robynn's Mom and Robynn contacted me to shoot her wedding!
Weddings mean so much to me but when you know someone personally, it really takes on a whole new meaning. Needless to say, there were a few "get the kleenex" moments! One in particular is when Robynn had her Daddy/Daughter dance. Donna told me years ago, probably sitting at a volleyball or basketball game in the standsand then reminded me of it, that the week Robynn was born Robert was diagnosed with cancer, the day she was born, the test results confirmed it had spread to his lymph nodes, and the day after she got out of the hospital, the oncologists said Robert's treatment would be so aggressive that they would have to put him in a coma for a week, bring him out for 2 weeks, and repeat...and then he said, "If you are alive at the end of the year, we'll decide what to do with you then..." Donna told me, she remembered holding Robynn in the doctor's office thinking, this child will never know her daddy. Landon, Robynn's older brother was only 21 months old at the time, and when she would take him to the hospital to see Robert he would say "Daddy has ouuwwee's...".
And today, 23 years later, Robert is cancer free!! Every year they celebrate Robynn's birthday, they celebrate Robert being alive! So, the Daddy/Daughter dance was a really special moment!!
It was so good seeing everyone from Veribest again! I have really missed seeing the kids, not so much kids anymore, and their parents! It was like a reunion! Here are lots of pictures from the big day! What a beautiful wedding it was!

Robynn's dress was stunning! An 80 year old pin, worn by all the Fischer women when they were married was also worn by Robynn!
